What is the Crime? – MY ATTEMPT AT EDM
Hey howdy hey! I’ve got some exciting news to share with you all. Just over a week ago, I released my very first EDM track called ‘What is the Crime?’ and I couldn’t be more thrilled about it. Now, before you get all hyped up, I must confess that I’m a complete newbie when it comes to producing electronic music. But hey, we all gotta start somewhere, right?
So, let me give you a little background on how this track came to life. It all began when my friend XRMissie, decided to teach me a thing or two about music production using FL Studio. Armed with just a basic knowledge of scales and the essentials of FL Studio, I embarked on this musical journey.
Now, you might be wondering what inspired me to create this track. Well, it all started when my friend Jess sent me a video featuring Representative Jasmine Crockett and professor Michael Gerhardt during the government shutdown attempt of 2023. Their powerful words and the energy in that video struck a chord with me, and I felt compelled to turn it into something more.
Let me be honest with you, I didn’t pour my heart and soul into this track, nor did I spend countless hours perfecting every beat. It’s a simple creation, nothing too fancy or groundbreaking. But sometimes, the magic lies in simplicity, right?
Using samples from the speeches of Representative Jasmine Crockett and Professor Michael Gerhardt, I crafted a melodic EDM track that aims to capture the essence of their words. It’s a fusion of their voices with electronic beats, creating a blend of music and spoken word.
Now, I must warn you, this track is far from perfect. As a beginner, I’m still learning the ropes and figuring out my style. But that’s the beauty of starting something new, isn’t it? It’s about embracing the journey, the ups and downs, and the growth that comes along the way.
So, if you’re curious to hear my first attempt at EDM, head over to my pages and give ‘What is the Crime?’ a listen. I’d love to hear your thoughts and feedback. And remember, be kind, as this is just the beginning of my musical adventure.
I have no idea what I am doing..
