Where do we go from here?

Have you ever opened up a project you have wanted to work on for years but once you finally start, you feel like you don’t know where to begin? That’s where I’m at right now. I guess we can start with some basics like who I am, what I want to do, and what I plan to achieve on this site, right?

My handle is “Crafty”. Well, at least until I can think of a better one. I’m yet another aspiring game developer with no real background other than the time I said I wanted to make games in the sixth grade. It’s been a couple of decades now and I’m ready to get going! My original goals were to just be an environment artist, but since times are tough and finding a team is hard without a portfolio, the team consists of just myself right now.

My goals for this site, in my opinion, are rather simple. First, I’m going to use this blog as a form of diary to track my progress from this point onward. Sure, I’ve spent a little while learning some basics and experimenting with various tools, but now it is time to really go headfirst into development. Next, I’m going to use this website as a platform to expose any assets or games that I make to a wider audience and ideally snowball this whole endeavor into a proper career. Last but not least, I plan to post tutorials and other educational tidbits from the field with various tips and lessons I’ve learned along the way to where I am now. If any tutorials I write up are subpar please let me know how you would change it and I’ll see about giving your suggestion a try and will do a rewrite as needed!
